Being licensed to perform electrical work doesn’t mean that a worker can perform testing in accordance with the relative standard.
Term Training’s course is designed to refresh electrical workers knowledge and skills in the following areas:

  • Legislation requirements for electrical workers
  • LV test equipment and correct techniques
  • AS/NZS 3000 & 3017 testing requirements
  • Hands on testing of a functioning, full scale installation

Overview:
The refresher training course will cover the key areas surrounding electrical workers obligation for safe work and testing of LV installation and techniques used.
The first part of the training program focuses on the Qld Electrical Safety Act and Regulations:

  • Legislative framework
  • Workers duty to inspect and test

The second part of the training program would focus on test instruments and techniques for testing LV installations. Areas covered would be:

  • Type of meters
  • Ratings and specification of meters
  • Correct use and techniques
  • AS/NZS 3000/3017
    o Explanation of the mandatory test
    o Walkthrough of each mandatory test

The third part of the training program is a written exam which provides a formal assessment of attendee’s knowledge
